Job Overview
ROBERTSON AMUSEMENTS LTD is seeking energetic and reliable Amusement Ride Operators to join our travelling midway team. You will work outdoors at fairs, festivals, and events across multiple locations, helping to safely operate rides, assist guests, and keep the midway clean and welcoming. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with the public, are comfortable with physical work, and like the idea of travelling regularly as part of their job. Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Set up rides and amusements at new locations, including assembling components under supervision and following safety guidelines
• Operate rides and amusements safely according to company procedures and manufacturer instructions
• Assist patrons on and off rides, ensuring they are seated properly and comfortably
• Secure and release safety belts, lap bars, and harnesses, verifying that all restraints are correctly fastened before starting rides
• Monitor rides while in operation to ensure safe use and observe riders for any signs of distress or unsafe behaviour
• Operate game booths as assigned, explaining rules, handling prizes, and engaging guests in a friendly, fair manner
• Monitor equipment to detect wear, damage, or malfunction and report issues promptly to supervisors or maintenance staff
• Clean and maintain rides, game booths, recreational facilities, and surrounding grounds to keep the midway tidy and presentable
• Follow all safety procedures, emergency protocols, and company policies at all times
• Provide clear instructions and safety guidelines to guests before the ride begins
• Handle basic cash or token transactions safely and accurately when working at games or concessions (if assigned)
• Assist with dismantling rides and equipment at the end of each event and preparing for transport to the next location

• Must be willing and able to travel regularly and stay in staff accommodation at different locations

• Need for strong attention to detail when checking restraints, monitoring rides, and following safety procedures
