Responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Organize activities such as games, crafts, and outings for children
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
• Supervise and care for children at all times
• Take children to and from school and to appointments
• Tend to emotional well-being of children
• Cook healthy and balanced meals for the family
• Establish and maintain consistent daily routines
• Help children with homework and educational activities
• Encourage positive behaviour and age-appropriate social skills
• Read stories and engage children in creative and imaginative play
• Prepare children for rest periods and bedtime
• Accompany children on outdoor adventures and recreational activities
• Perform light housekeeping duties related to childcare
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding children’s progress
• Ensure children’s safety during all indoor and outdoor activities
• Support children’s developmental milestones and learning
• Foster curiosity and love of nature in the beautiful mountain environment

Credentials (Preferred)

• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Early Childhood Education certificate (an asset)
• Child development training (an asset)
• Valid driver’s license (an asset)
