Job Overview
Eastview Ag Ltd. is seeking dedicated Livestock Labourers to join our beef cattle ranching operation near Coronation, Alberta. This is a hands-on role working directly with cattle in a feedlot and ranch environment. You will help feed and care for animals, monitor their health, and maintain clean, safe facilities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical outdoor work, cares about animal welfare, and wants a stable, full-time job with long-term potential in Canadian agriculture. No previous farm experience is required – we will train motivated individuals who are serious about learning livestock work and living in a rural community.

Work Site Environment

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

  • Handle animals safely and calmly, including moving cattle between pens, chutes, and feeding areas as directed
  • Feed and tend animals daily, following established rations and feeding schedules
  • Perform livestock feeding using both manual methods and feeding equipment, as trained
  • Monitor animal health on an ongoing basis, observing behaviour, appetite, injuries, and signs of illness; promptly report concerns to supervisors
  • Prepare a clean, dry, and safe area for cows that are calving; assist with bedding and pen preparation
  • Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens, including removal of manure, soiled bedding, and debris
  • Maintain water sources and ensure animals have constant access to clean drinking water
  • Assist with basic treatments and handling under supervision, such as vaccinations, tagging, or sorting cattle
  • Organize tasks to accomplish daily and weekly work efficiently, according to priorities set by the supervisor
  • Perform general farm duties such as fence repair, pen maintenance, yard clean-up, and simple equipment care
  • Operate basic farm equipment and tools safely after receiving training (e.g., skid steer, tractor, feeders, pressure washers)
  • Assist with seasonal activities, such as calving, weaning, shipping, and receiving cattle
  • Follow all biosecurity and hygiene protocols to reduce disease risk and protect herd health
  • Adhere strictly to animal welfare standards and humane handling practices at all times
