Job Overview
Spring Meadow Pharmacy Inc. is seeking a Pharmacist who is committed to safe dispensing, excellent patient counselling, and professional pharmacy practice. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who enjoys working directly with patients, can maintain accuracy under pressure, and is comfortable supervising a small pharmacy team. You will assess prescriptions for appropriateness, provide clear medication guidance, manage inventory, and support day-to-day pharmacy operations to ensure timely and safe service. Training is available, making this a strong opportunity for a newly licensed pharmacist or a pharmacist transitioning into community practice, while also offering LMIA support for eligible international candidates.
Languages: English
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent as required for licensure)
Experience: Will train (experience is an asset but not required)
Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals accurately and efficiently
- Check prescriptions for proper dosage, therapeutic appropriateness, and completeness; clarify concerns when needed
- Advise customers on indications, contraindications, adverse effects, drug interactions, and correct dosage/use
- Advise customers on selection and safe use of non-prescription medications and health products
- Evaluate labelling, packaging, and advertising of drug products to support compliance and safe use
- Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies, including monitoring expiry dates and proper storage conditions
- Maintain accurate records and ensure prescriptions and documentation meet professional and regulatory standards
- Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians, and other staff
- Support smooth workflow, service standards, and a patient-focused environment during busy periods
- Communicate professionally with prescribers and other healthcare providers to support safe medication use and continuity of care
- Uphold privacy and confidentiality requirements when handling patient information
Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate a team of approximately 3–4 people
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
- High attention to detail required for dispensing accuracy and patient safety
- Work under pressure in a fast-paced pharmacy environment, especially during peak hours and on-call situations
- Standing and walking for extended periods may be required during shifts
