Job Overview
Igloo Transport is hiring a Logistics Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operational logistics and ensure shipments, schedules, and internal workflows run smoothly in a fast-paced transportation environment. This role is ideal for an experienced logistics leader who can coordinate people, equipment, and inventory while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining high service standards. You will organize tasks, assign and review work, coordinate across departments, resolve operational issues, support equipment uptime, and produce clear reports for management. If you are proactive, client-focused, and confident improving productivity through strong planning and hands-on leadership, this is a great opportunity for stable, permanent full-time work in Dartmouth.

Education: Bachelor’s degree

Experience

  • 3 years to less than 5 years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, warehouse operations, or supply chain coordination
  • Supervisory experience in a carrier/3PL environment is a strong asset

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

  • Oversee operational logistics of the organization to support on-time, accurate service delivery
  • Plan and organize operational logistics, including daily priorities, staffing, and workflow coordination
  • Organize tasks to accomplish the work efficiently and ensure targets are met
  • Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments to avoid delays and improve throughput
  • Co-ordinate, assign, and review work to ensure accuracy, productivity, and policy compliance
  • Prepare and submit reports, including operational updates, productivity metrics, and issue tracking
  • Organize and maintain inventory, including supplies, operational materials, and stock control practices
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies to support continuous operations
  • Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery; troubleshoot basic issues and escalate when required
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair work and coordinate with vendors/technicians to minimize downtime
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Train workers in duties and policies, including onboarding, safety expectations, and standard operating procedures
  • Arrange training for staff as required and support continuous improvement across the team
  • Maintain clear communication with drivers/dispatch/warehouse teams and ensure quick response to operational changes and client needs
