Job Overview
AgeCare Monashee Mews is seeking compassionate and clinically strong Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide high-quality nursing care in a nursing home/home for the aged in Lumby, British Columbia. This role is ideal for an RN who values resident dignity, safety, and person-centred care, and who can perform confidently in a fast-paced environment with a large workload. You will assess residents, administer medications and treatments, monitor and document changes in condition, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and families, deliver health education and immunization programs, and provide leadership by supervising LPNs and other nursing staff. Experience is an asset, and qualified candidates new to long-term care are encouraged to apply if they meet BC licensure requirements.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent as required for RN licensure)

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities (BC licensure required to practise)

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Provide nursing care and support safe, resident-centred practice in a long-term care setting
• Assess residents to identify appropriate nursing interventions and update care plans as needed
• Monitor patients/residents and advise the physician of any changes in condition; escalate concerns appropriately
• Address and document symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions with accurate, timely charting
• Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician and according to facility policies
• Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment and ensure proper documentation of results
• Assist health care practitioners during examinations or treatments and support coordinated care delivery
• Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate care in consultation with residents and their families
• Conduct disease screening and support prevention initiatives
• Deliver immunization programs and support infection prevention and control practices
• Deliver health education programs for residents, families, and/or staff as required
• Provide consultative services regarding issues relevant to nursing profession and nursing practice
• Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff, including delegation, coaching, and follow-up
• Perform administrative tasks related to care coordination, documentation, and shift operations
