Job Overview
Cocos Chicken and Sushi is hiring an experienced Cook to support daily restaurant operations in Merritt, British Columbia. This role is ideal for a dependable kitchen professional who can prepare complete meals and individual dishes efficiently while maintaining high standards for taste, presentation, cleanliness, and food safety. You will supervise kitchen helpers, train staff, manage inventory and ordering, and keep the kitchen organized and ready for service. - 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant cooking experience in a restaurant kitchen

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods according to restaurant standards
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, following safe handling and cross-contamination controls
- Manage kitchen operations during assigned shifts to ensure smooth workflow and timely service
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, assign tasks, and monitor quality and speed
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, portioning, and safe handling of food
- Order supplies and equipment and ensure items are received, stored, and rotated properly
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment; track usage and reduce waste
- Clean kitchen and work areas and ensure sanitation procedures are followed consistently
- Support quality control by checking dishes for consistency, taste, and presentation before service
- Follow all workplace health and safety requirements and maintain a clean, organized station

- Strong attention to detail required for food quality, portioning, and allergy-sensitive orders
- Standing for extended periods
- Ability to maintain steady pace during busy service periods
