Job Overview
AgeCare Cariboo Place is seeking compassionate, clinically strong Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide high-quality nursing care in a nursing home/home for the aged in Williams Lake, British Columbia. This role is ideal for an RN who values resident dignity, safety, and person-centred care and who can thrive in a fast-paced environment with a large workload. You will assess residents, administer medications and treatments, monitor changes in condition, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families, deliver education and immunization programs, and provide leadership through supervision of LPNs and other nursing staff. Experience is an asset, and candidates who are newly eligible or transitioning into long-term care are encouraged to apply if they meet licensure requirements.

Languages: English

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent as required for RN licensure)

Experience

  • Experience is an asset (long-term care/geriatrics experience preferred but not required)

Credentials (Required)

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities (BC licensure required to practise)
  • CPR Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

  • Provide nursing care and support safe, resident-centred practice in a long-term care setting
  • Assess patients/residents to identify appropriate nursing interventions and update care plans as needed
  • Monitor patients and advise the physician of any changes in condition; escalate concerns appropriately
  • Address and document symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions with accurate, timely charting
  • Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician and according to facility policies
  • Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment as required and ensure proper documentation of results
  • Assist health care practitioners during examinations or treatments and support coordinated care delivery
  • Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate care in consultation with residents and families
  • Conduct disease screening and support prevention initiatives
  • Deliver immunization programs and support infection prevention and control practices
  • Deliver health education programs for residents, families, and/or staff as required
  • Provide consultative services regarding issues relevant to nursing profession and nursing practice
  • Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff, including delegation, coaching, and follow-up
  • Perform administrative tasks related to care coordination, documentation, and shift operations

  • Physically demanding work, including standing for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Manual dexterity required for clinical procedures and medication administration
