Job Overview
Cargill Limited is hiring an experienced Wholesale Butcher to support high-volume meat processing and packing operations in Guelph, Ontario. This role is ideal for a skilled butcher who can work safely and efficiently in a cold/refrigerated environment while meeting tight production deadlines and strict quality standards. You will break down carcasses, remove bones, trim and prepare standard cuts, and complete special orders with consistent accuracy. If you have strong knife skills, are comfortable using band saws, and take pride in clean, precise work, this is an excellent opportunity for stable, permanent full-time employment with strong benefits and a pension plan.

Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required

Experience

3 years to less than 5 years of experience in wholesale butchery, meat cutting, meat processing, or a similar production environment

Work Site Environment

Cold/refrigerated conditions
Exposure to odours typical of meat processing facilities

Work Setting

Meat processing and/or packing plant/establishment

Equipment and Machinery Experience

Band saw
Manual cutting utensils (knives and related tools)

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters according to production specifications and safety procedures
Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat to meet quality, yield, and presentation requirements
Remove bones from meat using correct techniques to minimize waste and maintain product integrity
Prepare special orders accurately, including specific trimming and portion requirements
Examine product and workmanship during processing to ensure standards and specifications are met
Maintain safe knife-handling and machine operation practices, including proper guarding and positioning
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of tools and immediate work areas in accordance with plant procedures
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and safety
Report equipment issues, safety hazards, or product irregularities to supervisors promptly
