Job Overview
Catalyst Changers Inc. is hiring refinery labourers to support turnaround and maintenance activities in oil refinery, petrochemical, chemical processing, and natural gas processing environments in Sherwood Park and Sarnia. This role is ideal for someone with industrial labour experience who can work safely in noisy, dusty, hot/cold, and confined-space conditions while meeting strict timelines. You will assist with material handling, vessel loading/unloading, workspace cleaning, rigging support, working at heights, and general labour duties that keep specialized crews productive and safe. This position requires strong safety awareness, physical fitness, and readiness for overtime and shift work.

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

1 year to less than 2 years of relevant industrial labour experience (refinery, plant shutdown/turnaround, construction, maintenance support, or heavy material handling)

Work Site Environment

Noisy, dusty environments with odours
Hot and cold/refrigerated areas depending on unit and season
Confined spaces and safety-sensitive zones
Work at heights may be required

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

Perform general labouring duties to support turnaround, maintenance, and plant operations
Clean and maintain work space to keep areas safe, organized, and compliant
Move, sort, and pile materials and products according to instructions and site procedures
Assist in operation, repair, and maintenance activities by supporting crews with tools, parts, and setup/teardown
Load and unload vessels safely and efficiently, following confined space and lockout procedures as required
Assemble, erect, and install hoisting and rigging equipment and support safe lifts under supervision
Work at heights on scaffolding or swing stages and follow fall protection requirements at all times
Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures as required by job tasks
Wear and use Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment when required and follow respiratory protection procedures
Use gas detecting devices where required and follow site instructions for atmospheric testing and hazard controls
Communicate clearly with supervisors and crew leads and follow site permits, safety plans, and job hazard analyses
