Job Overview
Sidhu Diesel Centre is hiring a Welder to support metal fabrication and repair work in a fast-moving, hands-on environment. This role is ideal for someone who has foundational welding experience and wants steady, long-term employment while developing strong, real-world skills. You will read drawings and specifications, set up and operate welding and cutting equipment, fabricate or repair metal parts, and ensure finished welds meet quality and safety standards. Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience
- 1 to less than 7 months of relevant welding/fabrication experience
- Apprentices, recent graduates, and entry-level welders with hands-on shop or field experience are encouraged to apply
Work Site Environment
- Outdoors at times
- Dusty, hot, noisy, and dirty conditions may occur depending on the job
- PPE required and safe work procedures must be followed at all times
Materials and Welding Techniques
- Type of materials: aluminum alloys, stainless steel, steel/iron/heavy metals
- Welding techniques: GTAW (TIG), GMAW
- Equipment experience: arc welding machine, gas welding machine
Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Interpret welding process specifications and job requirements
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and procedures
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, fully automated, and previously set-up welding equipment to fabricate or repair parts and products
- Examine welds to ensure they meet standards and/or specifications and correct deficiencies when required
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
- Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal components as needed
- Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
- Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or fill holes, indentations, and seams
- Maintain a clean work area and follow shop/jobsite housekeeping standards
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members about job progress, material needs, and any issues that could affect quality or timelines
- Follow all workplace safety procedures, including safe handling of gas cylinders, hot work practices, and proper PPE use

- Physically demanding role requiring stamina and safe work habits
- Manual dexterity and steady hand control for quality welds
- Strong attention to detail and consistent workmanship
- Hand-eye coordination for precise fitting, cutting, and welding
- Weight handling up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

- Basic knowledge of weld inspection and common weld defects
- Welding tickets/certifications are an asset but not required (training/experience considered)
