Job Overview
La Bass Holsteins Ltd. is a progressive dairy farm looking for dedicated General Farm Workers to join our team. This role is ideal for candidates who are motivated, willing to learn, and ready for hands-on work with animals. You will be part of a professional operation focused on high standards of animal care, cleanliness, and safety. Full training is provided, making this a strong opportunity for newcomers to Canadian agriculture, including foreign workers seeking long-term, stable employment.

• No degree, certificate or diploma required
• On-the-job training provided

Experience

• 1 to less than 7 months of farm or related experience (an asset, but not mandatory if you are willing to learn and work hard)

Work Site Environment

• Dusty at times
• Noisy at times
• Dairy farm environment with live animals
• Work in all weather conditions (indoor and outdoor tasks)

Work Setting

• Rural area
• Live-in or nearby accommodation may be required or recommended
• Willing to relocate to La Broquerie, MB

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Monitor animal health and promptly report any signs of illness or distress
• Perform animal grooming activities to maintain animal comfort and hygiene
• Feed and tend animals according to established farm procedures
• Milk cows using milking systems and follow proper milking routines
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment safely and correctly (after training)
• Clean and disinfect stables, barns, barnyards, milking parlours, and pens
• Assist with bedding, manure handling, and general barn upkeep
• Follow biosecurity and farm safety protocols at all times
• Write daily basic progress and activity reports as required by the farm manager
• Support other general farm duties as needed
