Join a caring household in Vancouver as a Home Support Worker, providing daily living assistance and companionship to a client in their private home. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, attentive, and genuinely passionate about supporting others. You will help maintain the client’s comfort, safety, and independence, while working in a stable, respectful environment with clear routines and expectations.

• 7 months to less than 1 year in caregiving, home support, or a related field

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Administer medications as directed and maintain basic medication records
• Assist client with bathing, grooming, dressing, and other aspects of personal hygiene
• Assist in regular exercise, such as walks and light mobility activities, as appropriate
• Feed or assist in feeding, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences
• Plan therapeutic diets and menus following care instructions or medical guidelines
• Cook simple to moderately complex meals safely and hygienically
• Shop for food and household supplies as needed
• Launder clothing and household linens
• Mend clothing and linens when required
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to keep the home neat and safe
• Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support
• Provide personal care with respect, patience, and cultural sensitivity
• Observe and report any changes in the client’s condition or behaviour to the employer

Security and Safety

• Criminal record check required prior to employment

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
• Physically demanding at times (assisting with mobility, lifting, etc.)
• Repetitive tasks
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple small tasks throughout the day
