Job Overview
Timberlost Outfitting is hiring a Hunting Guide to escort groups on outdoor sport and recreational trips in rural and remote areas near Leoville, Saskatchewan. This role is ideal for someone who thrives outdoors, communicates clearly with clients, and takes safety seriously in unpredictable conditions. You will plan and lead trips, set up and take down camps, operate and maintain watercraft, use GPS and navigation equipment, and maintain gear to ensure every group has a safe and well-organized experience. If you are reliable, physically fit, and comfortable working in changing weather and remote environments, this is an exciting seasonal opportunity with strong hourly pay and LMIA support available for eligible international candidates.

Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required

Experience

• 1 to less than 7 months of relevant guiding, outdoor leadership, outfitting, camping, or backcountry support experience (training/orientation may be provided for company procedures)

Work Site Environment

• Outdoors in changing conditions
• In/on water and underwater conditions may occur depending on trip requirements
• At heights and in confined spaces may occur depending on terrain, structures, or equipment tasks
• Wet/damp environments, odours, and temperature extremes including hot and cold conditions
• Remote settings where self-reliance and safety awareness are essential

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Escort groups on outdoor sport and recreational trips and ensure client safety and comfort throughout
• Plan trips, including route selection, timing, equipment preparation, and basic logistics
• Set up and take down camps efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and safe camp practices
• Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment to support safe travel and route adjustments
• Operate and maintain watercraft as required for trip travel and access
• Maintain equipment, including inspection, cleaning, minor repairs, and proper storage
• Provide clear trip instructions and expectations to clients and support positive, professional guest experience
• Monitor weather and environmental conditions and make safe decisions to manage risk and maintain schedules
• Communicate issues promptly to the outfitting team and document basic trip notes when required

Transportation / Travel Information

• Valid driver’s licence required

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Fast-paced environment with time-sensitive trip schedules
• Work under pressure in remote conditions and changing weather
• Physically demanding work including handling heavy loads (gear, supplies, camp equipment)
• Manual dexterity and ability to perform practical tasks and equipment handling
• Combination of sitting, standing, and walking; standing for extended periods and frequent walking over uneven terrain
• Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling during camp setup and equipment handling

Additional Assets (Preferred)

• Experience operating boats/watercraft and maintaining outdoor equipment (asset)
• First Aid/CPR training and wilderness safety knowledge (asset)
• Familiarity with remote navigation, GPS use, and camp management (asset)
