Job Overview
U Nails Spa Ltd is looking for a skilled and creative Nail Care Technician to join our professional team in Kingston, Ontario. You will provide high-quality manicures, pedicures, and nail enhancement services while delivering an outstanding client experience in a busy, modern spa environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented technician who has solid technical skills, a passion for nail art and design, and a strong focus on hygiene and customer service. Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Consult with clients to understand their preferences, nail health, and desired style or design
- Clean, trim, file, and shape natural nails on hands and feet to prepare for services
- Perform manicures and pedicures, including cuticle care, exfoliation, massage, and polish application
- Apply and remove artificial nails, including tips, overlays, and nail art designs
- Provide gel and acrylic nail extensions, including refill, repair, and removal services
- Create custom nail art and designs tailored to each client, using a variety of tools, colours, and techniques
- Recommend appropriate nail care, maintenance routines, and aftercare products based on client needs
- Maintain strict hygiene standards, including sanitizing and disinfecting tools, work surfaces, and equipment after each client
- Follow spa protocols for workstation setup and cleaning, towel and linen handling, and waste disposal
- Monitor product usage and inform management when supplies need replenishing
- Manage appointment times effectively to stay on schedule while providing quality service
- Address basic client questions, concerns, or minor complaints in a professional and calm manner, escalating where necessary to management
- Promote spa services and retail products where appropriate to support client needs and spa revenue
- Stay current with nail trends, new techniques, and product knowledge to continuously improve service offerings
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience
- 1 year to less than 2 years of recent experience as a Nail Technician, Manicurist, Pedicurist, or in a similar role in a salon or spa environment
- Formal nail care training or certification is a strong asset (where applicable by local regulation)
Work Site Environment
- Indoor spa/salon environment
- Noisy at times due to client volume and salon equipment
- Exposure to nail products, dust from filing, and odours associated with polishes, gels, and acrylics (proper ventilation and protective measures in place)

- Frequent use of hands and fingers for fine, repetitive movements and handling small tools
- Need for good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Working in a fast-paced environment with back-to-back client appointments at peak times
