Job Overview
Central Protection Services is hiring Security Guards to support safe and orderly operations at client sites in Fort McMurray. This role is ideal for a dependable professional who is alert, respectful, and confident enforcing site rules while providing strong customer service. You will patrol assigned areas, monitor and operate control room equipment, assist guests and clients including those with special needs, and respond to incidents such as conflicts, theft, or suspicious activity. You may also perform passenger and luggage checks and handle pickup/delivery of cash and valuables according to strict procedures. If you have a valid Security Guard License and a Class 5/5F/G driver’s licence and you take pride in professionalism, attention to detail, and prevention-focused security work, this is a strong opportunity for stable, long-term employment with LMIA support available for eligible international candidates.

Experience

• 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant security experience (patrol, retail loss prevention, control room monitoring, event/venue security, or similar)

Credentials (Required)

• Security Guard License
• Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles)
• Valid driver’s licence required

Experience and Specialization (Assets)

• Audio-video surveillance experience
• Familiarity with security systems/alarms consulting (residential)

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Patrol assigned areas to deter theft, trespassing, unsafe activity, and property damage
• Operate security control room equipment and monitor surveillance systems as assigned
• Enforce regulations to maintain order, monitor establishment activities, and resolve conflicts professionally
• Check age identification of patrons when required and enforce entry/age policies consistently
• Assist clients/guests with special needs and provide respectful, helpful support
• Perform security checks of passengers and luggage when required by site procedures
• Prevent and detect shoplifting and theft in retail establishments; document and report incidents accurately
• Pick up and deliver cash and valuables when assigned, following strict chain-of-custody and safety procedures
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies; escalate to supervisors and emergency services as required
• Write clear incident reports and maintain daily logs of patrols, observations, and actions taken
• Maintain professional communication with coworkers, site staff, and the public

Transportation / Travel Information

• Valid driver’s licence required
• Ability to travel between assigned sites in Fort McMurray as needed

• Combination of sitting, standing, and walking depending on assignment
• Standing for extended periods and frequent walking/patrols
• Strong attention to detail for surveillance monitoring, ID checks, and report writing
• Ability to remain alert, calm, and professional during long shifts and during incidents
