Job Overview
Torquest Partners Manager Inc. is seeking a Financial Control Manager to support investment decision-making through rigorous financial analysis, due diligence, risk evaluation, and high-quality reporting. This role is ideal for a highly analytical professional who can work confidently with complex financial and investment information, produce clear written briefings for senior stakeholders, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will help analyze companies and markets, assess investment projects, support operating and investment budgets, and provide investment recommendations to clients and senior company officials. Education
- Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field preferred)
Experience
- 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, financial controls, portfolio/asset management support, or similar roles
Work Setting
- Office-based professional environment in Toronto
- High-volume analytical workload supporting senior decision-makers and investment processes
Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Examine and analyze financial and investment information, including company profiles, stock or bond prices, yields, and future trends
- Collect financial and investment information about companies, stocks, bonds, and other investments to support research and recommendations
- Analyze investment projects, including assumptions, valuation drivers, and key risk factors
- Evaluate financial risk and provide clear, practical risk assessments and mitigation considerations
- Provide investment advice and recommendations to clients, senior company officials, pension fund managers, securities agents, and associates
- Prepare company, industry, and economic outlooks and translate findings into actionable insights
- Prepare analytical reports, briefing notes, correspondence, and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders
- Assist in preparing operating and investment budgets and support planning, tracking, and variance analysis
- Perform administrative tasks required to support investment processes, documentation, and reporting workflows
- Maintain strong due diligence practices, including verification of key data, consistency checks, and documentation of conclusions
