Job Overview
Jroberts International Inc. is hiring an Automotive Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and service commercial transport trucks and automotive systems in our North York operation. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented technician who is confident working with diesel engines, electrical/electronic systems, fuel and emission systems, steering and suspension, hydraulic systems, and transmissions. You will review work orders, inspect and test mechanical units, confirm findings with supervisors, complete repairs to manufacturer specifications, and document work accurately. Experience

1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience as an automotive technician, truck technician, diesel mechanic, or similar role

Work Setting

Repair shop / service environment supporting commercial transport truck systems and automotive repairs
Day shift with steady workflow and documented service processes

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor to confirm priorities, timelines, and repair approach
Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions using appropriate diagnostic methods
Test automotive systems and components to confirm issues and verify repairs
Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace units and components
Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation
Repair or replace mechanical units or components and ensure correct installation and fit
Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications and verify performance after repair
Test and adjust units to specifications, ensuring quality standards are met before release
Complete reports to record problems, diagnostics, parts used, and work performed accurately and clearly
Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow shop safety procedures and tool/equipment standards

Engine repair and overhaul, including diesel engines
Electrical and electronic systems, including ignition and electrical system diagnostics
Fuel and emission systems
Alignment, steering, and suspension
Hydraulic systems
Automatic transmission and standard transmission service/repair
Diagnostics and troubleshooting
Auto body repair (asset depending on workload and shop needs)

Transportation / Travel Information

Valid driver’s licence required
