Join Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) and be part of a team that is transforming healthcare. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide exceptional care in our 2 East Medical Floor, a 36-bed unit with two overflow spaces. As an RPN, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address diverse medical conditions while ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide patient-focused care.
  • Manage routine medical tasks and respond effectively to emergent situations.
  • Follow evidence-based practices and comply with regulatory guidelines.
  • Support patients and families through empathetic communication and care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
Mandatory:

  • Graduate of a recognized Registered Practical Nursing Program.
  • Registered Practical Nurse in good standing.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication in English.

Preferred Assets:

  • Bilingual in English and French.
  • Knowledge of Meditech Expanse.
  • Completion of a Medication Administration Course.
  • Completion of a Coronary Care 1 Certificate.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Education and Certification Required

  • Graduation from a recognized nursing program.
  • Current registration with the provincial regulatory body (e.g., College of Nurses of Ontario).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Additional certifications, such as advanced cardiac care, are an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly rate: $36.33 to $37.05.
  • Vacation accrual starting at two weeks per year, with additional percentages in lieu of benefits and paid vacation.
