Your Role as an Apiary Worker
Working with Thrive Honey means becoming part of the fascinating world of commercial beekeeping and honey production.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain bee yards and ensure colony health
- Care for beekeeping equipment and infrastructure
- Assist in honey harvesting operations
- Support hive management activities
- Perform seasonal apiary tasks
Daily Activities:
- Inspect hives for health and productivity
- Feed bees during nectar shortages
- Prepare hives for seasonal changes
- Extract and process honey
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality
- Move hives to optimal locations
- Repair and build hive components
- Monitor for pests and diseases
- Assist with queen bee management
- Package honey products
Seasonal Work Cycle:
- Spring: Colony buildup and splitting
- Summer: Honey production and harvesting
- Fall: Hive preparation for winter
- General: Equipment maintenance and repair
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience: 1 to 2 years in apiary work
- Education: No formal requirements
- Language: English OR French communication
- Driver’s License: Valid license required
- Physical: Ability to handle demanding outdoor work
- Availability: Flexible for varied shift schedules
