Job Title: Principal Software Dev QA Developer

Fortinet is seeking an experienced Principal Software Development QA Developer to work with a dynamic development team to deliver high-quality security products. This role involves designing, executing, and automating test processes, identifying risks, and collaborating with team members to ensure robust product performance and reliability.

Job Description
The role requires building efficient automation test processes, conducting detailed manual and automated testing, and ensuring the quality of networking-related features. The Principal Software Dev QA Developer will collaborate closely with developers and QA engineers to troubleshoot issues, provide detailed root cause analyses, and integrate cutting-edge testing tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities:

• Design and execute test plans for various product development stages.
• Perform detailed manual and automated testing of networking-related features.
• Create and maintain test environments to simulate real-world scenarios.
• Develop advanced network simulations for performance testing using protocols and tools.
• Analyze root causes and provide actionable recommendations to improve product reliability.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with developers and QA engineers.
• Research and integrate new tools and techniques into QA processes.
• Identify and document product risks for release readiness.
• Mentor QA team members to enhance skills and implement best practices.
• Reproduce and analyze customer issues in collaboration with Dev/TAC engineers.

Requirements

• Experience and Skills:
  • 10+ years of network product QA testing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, DHCP, 802.1X, and authentication
  • protocols like Radius, Kerberos, and LDAP.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming, preferably Python.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks like Pytest.
  • Performance testing experience with tools like Avalanche, IXIA, or JMeter.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Git.
  • Comprehensive understanding of QA processes and methodologies.
  • Experience with APIs, unit testing, Selenium, Ansible, and Terraform is an asset.
• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
