Teck Resources is seeking a motivated and skilled Data Analyst to join our Calgary team on a temporary, full-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to our world-leading biodiversity program and compliance with regulatory conditions for rehabilitation and biodiversity management. Reporting to the Senior Lead, Biodiversity, you will play a pivotal role in managing biodiversity data and supporting the implementation of strategic environmental initiatives.

Responsibilities

Act as a courageous safety leader, upholding safety and environmental policies.
Develop and maintain a standardized approach for biodiversity loss-gain accounting using centralized data management.
Coordinate data updates and figure production for biodiversity reporting.
Support mine planning efforts with biodiversity datasets and web map products.
Conduct QA/QC checks on all internal and consultant biodiversity data.
Integrate internal and consultant data into the centralized biodiversity database, including ecosystem mapping, disturbance boundaries, and spatial imaging products.
Support the implementation and updating of a restoration research database framework.
Maintain continuity between the site and corporate Biodiversity and Data Management departments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2 years of experience working with GIS systems, particularly in environmental applications.
Proficient in environmental data management, GIS analysis, and reporting.
Background in biodiversity and landscape-level data management.
Strong project management, planning, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities with excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
Flexibility to travel and work remotely when required.
