Job Overview
Valentine Sherbrooke is hiring an Assistant Waiter/Waitress to support smooth, high-quality food and beverage service in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with customers, can stay organized during busy periods, and takes pride in clean, efficient service. You will greet patrons, explain menu items and daily specials, serve specialty food at tables, keep tables clean and ready for guests, and handle payments accurately. Experience is an asset, but we welcome motivated candidates with strong communication skills and a team-first attitude. In addition to hourly wages, you may earn gratuities and a night shift premium.

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages
• Describe menu items, including daily specials, and advise on menu selections based on customer preferences
• Prepare and serve specialty food at customers’ tables following service standards
• Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs; reset tables quickly to support efficient seating
• Present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travellers cheques, or room billings when applicable
• Balance cash and record sales accurately at the end of shift or as required
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining area and follow hygiene and safety practices
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and service team to support accurate orders and timely delivery
• Assist with customer concerns professionally and escalate to a supervisor when needed

• Fast-paced environment with peak service rushes
• Work under pressure while maintaining friendly, accurate service
• Standing for extended periods
• Physically demanding tasks including carrying trays and supplies
