Job Overview
Bidalosy Farms Limited is hiring a Dairy Farm Worker to support daily herd care and dairy production in Beaver Brook, Nova Scotia. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on livestock experience who can follow consistent routines, work safely in a dusty and noisy barn environment, and maintain strong standards for cleanliness and animal welfare. You will assist with milking (including automated systems), feeding and tending animals, calving area preparation, herd health monitoring, barn sanitation, record keeping, and basic equipment operation. If you are reliable, organized, and comfortable working in all weather conditions, this is a strong opportunity for full-time contract work with LMIA support available for eligible international candidates.

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant dairy/livestock experience

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

Handle animals safely and humanely, following farm routines and animal welfare practices
Monitor animal health daily and report concerns promptly to supervisors
Perform livestock feeding and feed and tend animals according to schedules
Prepare a clean, dry area for cows that are calving and support calving readiness tasks
Milk cows and assist with automated milking routines and hygiene standards
Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens and maintain bedding and sanitation standards
Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas to maintain safe, organized spaces
Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment as assigned; perform basic checks and report mechanical issues
Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed consistently to reduce disease risk
Maintain work records and logs and support accurate tracking of tasks and observations
Maintain financial and production records as assigned, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
Perform general farm duties and support the team during busy periods and emergencies

Transportation / Travel Information

Public transportation is not available
Candidate must be able to reliably commute to Beaver Brook (own transportation is strongly recommended)

Ability to work independently and follow routines with minimal supervision once trained
Fast-paced environment with time-sensitive tasks (milking and feeding schedules)
Physically demanding work with repetitive tasks
Standing for extended periods; regular walking
Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling
Strong attention to detail required for milking hygiene, animal monitoring, and record keeping
