Job Overview
R. Hanna Transport is hiring an experienced Welder to support fabrication and repair work for metal parts and products in a fast-moving transport-related environment. This role is ideal for a skilled tradesperson who can interpret welding specifications, read drawings and blueprints, operate welding and flame-cutting equipment, and consistently produce welds that meet required standards. You will fabricate and repair components, assess material weldability, complete fit-up and torch-straightening tasks, and maintain welding equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently. - 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant welding/fabrication experience
Work Setting
- Shop and repair environment supporting transport operations and metal component maintenance
- Shift-based schedule with steady workload and clear quality expectations
Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Interpret welding process specifications and job requirements to plan correct procedures and settings
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment safely and accurately
- Determine weldability of materials and select appropriate technique, filler, and preparation methods
- Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal components as required to meet alignment and tolerance expectations
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) information when required to support fabrication, layout, or verification
- Examine welds and ensure they meet standards and/or specifications; correct deficiencies when required
- Operate previously set-up welding machines and adjust parameters as needed for quality and consistency
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment to reduce downtime
- Keep work areas clean and organized, follow safe work practices, and use required PPE
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members about progress, material needs, and any issues affecting quality or timeline

- Strong attention to detail required for weld quality, fit-up accuracy, and inspection
- Ability to work independently and also coordinate with a team in a production/repair setting
- Consistent commitment to safety practices around hot work, cutting operations, and shop equipment
