Job Overview
Jatt Cheema Brothers Farm is hiring dependable Farm Workers (Fruit) to support day-to-day crop production and post-harvest operations in Abbotsford, British Columbia. This is a hands-on role for individuals who are ready to work outdoors, follow quality standards, and contribute to a productive, safety-focused farm team. You will assist with planting, irrigating, cultivating, fertilizing, spraying, harvesting, and packing fruit and vegetables, while maintaining clean work areas and meeting market-quality requirements. Languages: English

Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required

Experience

• 1 to less than 7 months of relevant farm or agricultural experience (training will be provided as needed)

Work Setting

• Outdoor farm environment in Abbotsford, BC
• Field work and packing/handling tasks depending on daily needs
• Work is weather-dependent and may include hot, cold, wet, or dusty conditions
• Repetitive tasks and quality-based production standards

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades based on size, shape, colour, and volume to meet market standards and maximize value
• Examine produce for quality and readiness for market, removing damaged or unsuitable items
• Sort fruits and vegetables and prepare them for packing and shipment
• Pack fruits and vegetables carefully to prevent bruising and maintain presentation quality
• Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops according to farm procedures and schedules
• Weed crops and work areas to support healthy growth and clean fields
• Fertilize and spray crops as directed, following safe handling procedures and farm instructions
• Harvest crops efficiently while maintaining quality standards and minimizing product damage
• Load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce safely and efficiently
• Operate and help maintain farm machinery and equipment (as trained and assigned)
• Clean work areas and help keep tools, stations, and storage areas organized and sanitary
• Follow farm safety procedures and report hazards, equipment issues, or crop concerns to supervisors

Equipment and Machinery (Training Provided; Experience is an Asset)

• Basic farm tools and harvest equipment
• Irrigation equipment and hoses
• Farm machinery and equipment as assigned (only if trained/authorized)

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Physically demanding work requiring stamina and consistent effort
• Standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and repetitive hand movements
• Lifting and carrying crates and supplies as required by the role
• Working outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Ability to maintain attention to detail for grading, sorting, and quality control
• Fast-paced work during harvest and shipping deadlines
