Key Responsibilities

Cattle Care and Monitoring:
• Monitor the calving process closely during calving season
• Assist cows during birthing when necessary
• Check newborn calves and ensure proper care
• Monitor animal health daily and identify sick or injured cattle
• Observe cattle behavior for signs of distress, illness, or injury
• Report health concerns to ranch manager or veterinarian immediately
• Administer basic first aid and medications as directed
• Maintain detailed records of animal health observations
• Respond quickly to emergency situations involving livestock

Feeding and Animal Husbandry:
• Feed and tend animals according to feeding schedules and protocols
• Prepare and distribute feed rations for different cattle groups
• Ensure all animals have access to fresh, clean water at all times
• Move cattle between pastures, pens, and feeding areas
• Handle cattle calmly and safely using proper techniques
• Assist with weaning, sorting, and processing cattle
• Monitor feed consumption and adjust as needed

Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment safely

• Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens regularly

• Keep water troughs and feeding equipment clean
