Job Overview
A caring family in Vancouver is seeking a responsible, warm, and organized Nanny to provide full-time care and support for their children. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for an experienced nanny who genuinely loves working with children and wants to become a trusted part of a family’s daily life. You will be responsible for supervision, emotional support, school routines, outings, and light household tasks related to the children, while maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing home environment. Optional live-in accommodation is available at no cost, making this a great role for candidates relocating to Vancouver or international workers needing a stable base.

- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience as a nanny, child caregiver, or in a similar childcare role (formal or informal experience such as long-term babysitting, au pair, or daycare work is acceptable)
Work Setting
- Employer’s private home in Vancouver, BC
- Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis
Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Supervise and care for children at all times during working hours
- Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children according to age and routine
- Prepare infants and children for rest periods and support healthy sleep routines
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for the children; cook simple family meals as requested
- Take children to and from school, activities, and appointments, using public transportation or walking as appropriate
- Organize and lead activities such as games, reading, creative play, and outings to parks, libraries, or community events
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, identifying and reducing hazards
- Tend to the emotional well-being of children by providing patience, comfort, and encouragement
- Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, ensuring consistency with family rules and values
- Instruct children in personal hygiene (handwashing, brushing teeth, bathing) and social development (sharing, manners, respect)
- Keep records of daily activities, routines, and any health or behavioural observations, and communicate these regularly to parents
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the children (tidying play areas, washing dishes after meals, organizing children’s rooms)
- Wash, iron, and press children’s clothing and household linens as needed
- Shop for food and household supplies as requested, following lists and simple budgets
- Travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision and light housekeeping duties during travel
- Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents within the agreed scope of duties (children’s routines, meals, general order of the home)

- Public transportation is available in the area
- Ability and comfort using transit or walking with children is important
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
- Active role requiring standing, walking, lifting, and playing with children
- Repetitive tasks such as lifting younger children, pushing strollers, tidying, and meal preparation
- Need for sustained attention to detail regarding safety, routines, and children’s needs
