• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or accepted equivalent

Experience

• 1 to less than 7 months of cleaning, janitorial, or housekeeping experience (recent on-the-job training or farm/commercial clean-up counts). Motivated newcomers will receive equipment and WHMIS/chemical-safety orientation.

Key Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors in shop, office, entryways, and washrooms
• Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, high-touch surfaces, and office equipment
• Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture
• Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen/break-room appliances, countertops, sinks, and bathroom fixtures
• Wash interior windows, spot-clean walls, doors, and ceilings as scheduled
• Pick up debris inside/outside, empty and reline trash/recycling containers, and take waste to collection area
• Perform light housekeeping duties and restock supplies (soap, paper, towels)
• Report safety hazards, maintenance needs, or inventory shortages to the supervisor

Work Environment & Physical Capabilities

• Mixed indoor/outdoor work around an active industrial shop; temperature changes and dusty areas
• Physically demanding: prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing step ladders, and repetitive motions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 kg (44 lbs), push carts, and safely handle cleaning chemicals with provided PPE
• Reliable attendance and comfort working independently once routines are learned
