Job Overview
Nature Fresh Farms Inc. is looking for hardworking, dependable Farm Workers to join our vegetable production team in Leamington, Ontario. Working in our advanced greenhouse and vertical farming facilities, you will help grow, maintain, and harvest high-quality vegetables such as bell peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that is ideal for individuals who enjoy active work, are comfortable working in warm greenhouse environments, and want long-term, stable employment in Canada’s agricultural sector. No formal education or Canadian experience is required; we will train motivated candidates who are ready to learn and take pride in producing safe, fresh food.

Experience

• Experience is an asset (farm work, greenhouse work, general labour, or other physically demanding jobs)
• Training will be provided on farm procedures, food safety, and equipment use

Work Site Environment

• Fruit and vegetable combination farming
• Organic farming practices in some production areas
• Work at heights (on platforms or ladders within greenhouses and vertical farming systems)
• Wet/damp conditions at times (due to irrigation and washing activities)
• Hot/humid greenhouse environments, especially in summer
• Cold/refrigerated areas for storage and post-harvest handling

Work Setting

• Large-scale commercial greenhouse and vertical farming facilities in Leamington, ON
• Indoor greenhouse work with some tasks in packing, storage, and loading areas
• Team-based environment with supervisors, lead hands, and co-workers from diverse backgrounds

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Clean and maintain crops and growing areas to company standards
• Cultivate vegetables on vertical farming systems, including training, pruning, and positioning plants
• Perform general greenhouse cleaning, including walkways, work areas, and equipment used for crop production
• Hand harvest vegetables (such as bell peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes) according to quality and ripeness standards
• Level earth and growing media to fine grade specifications where required
• Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts from plants to support healthy growth and maximize production
• Tie, clip, and secure plants to support structures, strings, or trellises in vertical and greenhouse systems
• Sort, grade, and pack harvested vegetables according to size and quality guidelines (as required)
• Assist with basic crop care tasks such as leaf removal, pruning, spacing, and plant maintenance
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and biosecurity protocols at all times (including handwashing, use of protective clothing, and equipment sanitation)
• Use hand tools and simple equipment safely and correctly
• Follow instructions from supervisors and team leads regarding daily tasks, priorities, and production targets
• Report any crop issues (disease, pests, damage) or equipment concerns to supervisors promptly
• Support other general farm labour tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly

• Own transportation required (farm location may not be accessible by all public transit routes)
• Reliable transportation to and from work is necessary to meet early morning and flexible shift times

• Repetitive tasks involving similar motions throughout the shift
• Handling heavy loads and materials; must be able to lift and move items weighing more than 45 kg (100 lbs) when required (team lifting or equipment may be used for heavier loads)
• Tight deadlines during harvest and peak production periods
• Physically demanding work requiring good stamina and strength
• Standing and walking for extended periods on concrete or greenhouse floors
• Frequent bending, crouching, reaching, and kneeling while working with plants and harvesting
• Working in hot/humid greenhouse conditions and, at times, in cold or refrigerated storage areas
• Need for strong attention to detail when cleaning, harvesting, and grading to meet quality standards
