Job Overview
Di Ciocco Sonny Farms Inc is hiring Seasonal Vegetable Farm Workers to support planting, crop care, harvesting, and packing activities in Leamington, Ontario. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor, hands-on work and can maintain speed and quality while performing repetitive tasks. You will help keep crops healthy through cleaning and pruning, assist with irrigation and fertilizing, harvest and pack vegetables, and inspect product quality for market readiness. Experience is an asset, but training will be provided to motivated workers who are reliable, flexible, and able to work as part of a team during busy harvest periods.

Experience

• Experience is an asset (vegetable farming, greenhouse work, harvesting, packing, pruning, irrigation, or general farm labour)
• On-the-job training provided

• Outdoor vegetable farming environment in Leamington

• Fast-paced seasonal operations with daily productivity and quality targets

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Clean the crops and maintain field rows to support plant health and productivity
• Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops according to farm schedules and instructions
• Fertilize and spray crops following direction and safe handling procedures
• Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts to support healthy growth and yield
• Hand harvest vegetables carefully to prevent damage and maintain quality
• Harvest crops efficiently and consistently to meet daily targets
• Cut horticultural crops as required by the crop type and harvest method
• Level earth to fine grade specifications to support planting, drainage, and field maintenance
• Pack fruits and vegetables, ensuring correct handling, sorting, and preparation for shipment/market
• Examine product for quality and readiness for the market, including size, ripeness, and appearance
• Detect disease and health problems in crops and report concerns promptly to a supervisor
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and follow farm hygiene and safety practices

• Repetitive tasks requiring consistent pace and focus
• Standing for extended periods
• Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling
• Strong hand-eye coordination required for harvesting, cutting, and packing
• Ability to distinguish between colours (important for sorting, quality checks, and identifying crop issues)
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and meet seasonal deadlines
