Job Overview
The Alvarez Family is seeking an experienced, dependable Nanny to provide attentive in-home childcare and household support in Vancouver, British Columbia. This role is ideal for someone who is confident caring for infants and children, understands the importance of hygiene and safe feeding practices, and can create calm, consistent routines that support emotional well-being and healthy development. You will handle infant care tasks such as diapering, bottle sterilization, and formula preparation, support meals and rest periods, guide personal habits (eating, dressing, toilet routines), organize activities and outings, and complete light housekeeping tasks related to the household and children. A vulnerable sector check is required for this position.

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

• 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant childcare experience (private home, nannying, daycare, or similar)

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Supervise and care for children, ensuring safety and attentive supervision at all times
• Change diapers and provide infant care routines with cleanliness and comfort
• Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas according to instructions and safe feeding practices
• Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children and maintain consistent daily schedules
• Prepare infants and children for rest periods and maintain calm nap/quiet-time routines
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks; cook as required based on family preferences and instructions
• Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, encouraging positive habits and respectful behaviour
• Tend to emotional well-being of children through patience, reassurance, and positive guidance
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, using calm and consistent approaches
• Organize activities such as games and outings that support learning, movement, and social development
• Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, following routines and instructions provided
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a tidy, safe home environment
• Wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens as needed
• Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand as required
• Vacuum floors and sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors as assigned
