Job Overview
Greenstone Medical Centre is seeking an Internal Medicine Specialist to provide expert diagnostic and consultative care within a private practice clinic setting in Sherwood Park, Alberta. This role is ideal for a physician with strong clinical judgement and a collaborative approach to complex adult patient care. You will diagnose and treat diseases and physiological disorders, order and interpret diagnostic investigations, prescribe evidence-based treatments, and act as a consultant to other physicians to support coordinated patient management. Education
- Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry (medicine required for specialist physician practice)
Experience
- 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant experience in internal medicine or related specialty practice (post-licensure)

- Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities (must be eligible to practise in Alberta)
Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders through comprehensive assessment, clinical reasoning, and diagnostic interpretation
- Treat diseases and physiological disorders using evidence-based management plans and follow-up care
- Prescribe medication and treatment and monitor response, side effects, and ongoing care needs
- Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures to determine appropriate medical treatment
- Refer patients for surgery or specialty services when required and coordinate care plans with surgical teams
- Study the nature, cause, and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases to support accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment
- Act as consultants to other physicians, providing guidance on complex cases and shared-care planning
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with applicable standards
- Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, risks, and expected outcomes
- Support continuity of care by coordinating with primary care providers and allied health services as appropriate
