Job Overview
Groupe Chenail Inc. is hiring a Truck Mechanic to support inspection, repair, and maintenance of commercial transport trucks in Saint-Rémi, Québec. This role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude who takes pride in safe, accurate repairs and professional shop practices. You will inspect engines and systems in operation, diagnose faults, and adjust, repair, or replace components to keep vehicles reliable and compliant. Experience is an asset, but motivated candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Languages: English or French

Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required

Experience

• Experience is an asset (truck repair, diesel mechanic work, fleet maintenance, heavy equipment, or similar)
• On-the-job orientation may be provided based on experience level and shop procedures

Work Setting

• Fleet/service shop environment supporting commercial transport trucks
• Day shift with scheduled maintenance and repair workflow

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
• Inspect motor in operation to identify faults, performance issues, leaks, unusual noises, or irregular operation
• Repair or replace mechanical units or components to restore safe and reliable function
• Support preventative maintenance tasks to reduce breakdowns and improve uptime
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow shop safety procedures
• Communicate findings and repair needs clearly to supervisors and document work completed as required

• Hands-on mechanical work requiring attention to detail and safe tool use
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and complete repairs within assigned timelines
• Professional conduct required when working around vehicles, tools, and shop equipment
