Job Overview
Murphy’s Pharmacies is hiring a Pharmacist to provide safe dispensing, excellent patient counselling, and strong medication management in Cornwall, Prince Edward Island. This role is ideal for a licensed pharmacist who is detail-oriented, professional, and committed to patient safety while meeting tight daily deadlines. You will review prescriptions for accuracy, dispense medications, counsel patients on proper use and interactions, advise on non-prescription products, and manage the storage, packaging, and distribution of medicinal products to ensure quality and compliance. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with strong benefits, pension, and LMIA sponsorship available for eligible international candidates who meet PEI licensing requirements.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent as required for licensure)
Experience
- 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant pharmacist experience (community pharmacy preferred; other settings considered)
Credentials (Required)
- Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities (must be eligible to practise as a Pharmacist in Prince Edward Island)
Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals accurately and efficiently
- Check prescriptions for proper dosage, completeness, and clinical appropriateness; clarify issues when required
- Advise customers on indications, contraindications, adverse effects, drug interactions, and correct dosage/use
- Advise customers on selection and safe use of non-prescription medication and self-care products
- Manage the storage, packaging, and distribution of medicinal products to ensure safety, integrity, and compliance
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with pharmacy standards and privacy requirements
- Support medication safety by identifying potential interactions, duplications, or therapy concerns and taking appropriate action
- Communicate professionally with prescribers and other healthcare providers to support continuity of care
- Support an efficient dispensary workflow and uphold store policies, procedures, and service standards
