Job Overview
Hillside Gardens Ltd. is hiring Seasonal Farm Labourers to support crop production in a rural Bradford, Ontario setting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work and can perform physically demanding tasks while following farm safety and quality standards. You will assist with planting, cultivation, irrigation, fertilizing and spraying, harvesting, and basic operation and upkeep of farm machinery and equipment. Experience is an asset, especially with tractors and harvesting equipment, but training will be provided for motivated candidates who are reliable and ready to work in varying weather conditions.

Languages: English

Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required

Experience

  • Experience is an asset (farm labour, harvesting, equipment operation, irrigation, spraying, or similar)
  • On-the-job training provided based on assigned tasks and equipment

Work Site Environment

  • Outdoors in dusty, hot, noisy conditions
  • Wet/damp and cold/refrigerated conditions may occur depending on task location and season
  • Physically active work with changing weather and field conditions

Work Setting

  • Rural area

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

  • Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops according to farm schedules and instructions
  • Fertilize and spray crops following direction and safe handling procedures
  • Harvest crops carefully and efficiently to meet daily targets and quality standards
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment as assigned, including basic checks and routine upkeep
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and follow farm procedures to protect crop quality
  • Report equipment issues, crop concerns, or safety hazards to a supervisor promptly
