Job Overview
HERITAGE FARMS is hiring Farm Labourers to support daily fruit and vegetable operations in Staples, Ontario, with a strong focus on tomato crop work and greenhouse/field support tasks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on agricultural work, can maintain a steady pace in warm conditions, and takes pride in producing clean, market-ready produce. You will assist with crop care and cleaning, hand harvesting, grading and sorting, tying and securing plants, and greenhouse cleaning. No experience is required as training will be provided, but reliability, attention to detail, and physical readiness for repetitive tasks are essential for success.

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Clean the crops and maintain plant rows/areas to support healthy growth and quality output
• Hand harvest vegetables carefully to prevent damage and maintain market quality
• Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, colour, and volume to meet market standards
• Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts as required by crop stage and farm procedures
• Tie and secure plants to support growth, reduce damage, and maintain organized production areas
• Cut horticultural crops as required by harvest and crop management needs
• Perform greenhouse cleaning and maintain tidy, safe work areas
• Level earth to fine grade specifications when assigned to support planting or site preparation
• Follow farm hygiene, safety, and quality procedures and report crop issues promptly

• Strong attention to detail for grading, crop care, and quality checks
• Hand-eye coordination required for harvesting, trimming, tying, and sorting
• Ability to distinguish between colours (important for grading and identifying crop issues)
• Standing for extended periods; frequent walking
• Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling
