Job Overview
Orchard Park Growers Ltd. is hiring Greenhouse Workers to support floriculture production in a rural St. Catharines setting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on plant work, can maintain quality and speed during busy production periods, and takes pride in keeping plants healthy and market-ready. You will assist with planting, potting, transplanting, pruning support, watering, greenhouse housekeeping, and monitoring plants for signs of insects or disease. Experience is an asset, but motivated candidates who are reliable, detail-oriented, and ready for physically demanding work are encouraged to apply. LMIA sponsorship is available for eligible international candidates.

Experience

Experience is an asset (greenhouse, nursery, landscaping, farm labour, or similar)
On-the-job training may be provided for greenhouse procedures and plant handling standards

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

Plant bulbs and seeds according to production schedules and greenhouse procedures
Pot and re-pot plants using correct soil/media and handling methods
Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings with care to minimize plant stress and damage
Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants as directed to support healthy growth and shape
Water and tend to plants and monitor basic plant condition daily
Report signs of insect or disease damage promptly to supervisors to protect crop quality
Clean work areas and maintain tidy, organized greenhouse spaces and workstations
Follow safety procedures and hygiene practices to support a clean, productive greenhouse environment

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Fast-paced environment with a large workload during peak seasons
Repetitive tasks requiring consistent pace and attention to detail
Physically demanding work with handling heavy loads
Standing for extended periods; frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling
Strong hand-eye coordination required for transplanting, potting, and pruning support
Weight handling up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
