Job Overview
A private household in Richmond Hill is seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Support Aide – Home Aide to provide daily assistance for an adult female client with physical disability-related support needs. This role is ideal for someone experienced in in-home care who values dignity, privacy, and consistent routines. You will help with personal hygiene, meal planning and preparation (including therapeutic diets), light housekeeping, and laundry, supporting a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment. Optional live-in accommodation is available at no charge for candidates who prefer it.

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Assist the client with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing as required
• Provide personal care support respectfully, ensuring comfort, privacy, and dignity
• Plan therapeutic diets and menus according to instructions provided by the client/employer and any dietary guidelines shared (e.g., reduced salt, diabetic-friendly, texture modifications as applicable)
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks, maintaining cleanliness and safe food-handling practices
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to keep the home safe, tidy, and well maintained (kitchen tidying, wiping surfaces, basic cleaning of client areas)
• Launder clothing and household linens, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing as required
• Observe and communicate changes in the client’s comfort, mobility, appetite, or routine needs to the employer as appropriate
• Maintain a respectful and confidential approach to all personal and household information

Security and Safety Requirements

• Basic security clearance required
• Reference required

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling as part of care and housekeeping duties
• Weight handling up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
• Ability to follow safe body mechanics and provide assistance carefully and consistently
