Job Title: Plant Maintenance Technician
Location: St. John’s, NL
Shift: Morning, Night, Overnight
Wage: $20.60/Hour

Purity Factories is a well-established manufacturer of breads, crackers, cookies, candies and syrups with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team and contribute to the efficient operation of our production facility.

As Plant Maintenance Technician, you will be a vital part of our operations working with our Plant Manager to keep our machinery and equipment in optimal working condition along with the regular maintenance of our facility.
Responsibilities

• Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment, including troubleshooting, repair, replacement and sourcing of components
• Equipment Monitoring: Regularly inspect and monitor the condition of machinery, diagnosing issues, and addressing them promptly to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery
• Facilities Maintenance: Ensuring buildings and property are maintained per regulation, clean, manicured and kept accessible and safe in winter
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities including parts used, and equipment status
• Safety: Promote a culture of safety, adhering to all food and safety regulations
• Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and support production personnel in achieving operational goals

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification an asset
• Proven experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Familiarity with pressure and steam systems
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Commitment to safety and adherence to regulations
• Ability to start work at 5:30am, igniting ovens, completing boiler checks and able to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergencies
