You may rotate through various roles, including Loader, Unloader, Palletizer, Scanner, Weigh and Key (SWAK), Quality Assurance (QA), Facer, and Switcher, among others. Some roles, such as Parcel Handler Trainer and Parcel Handler – Air, may require specialized training.

Key Responsibilities:
General Package Handling:
Safely load and unload packages onto delivery vehicles, trailers, pallets, conveyor systems, and loading racks.
Handle packages continuously for approximately 3 to 5 hours per shift.
Determine appropriate conveyor systems by scanning packages and sorting accordingly.
Parcel Handler Trainer:
Train new and existing Package Handlers on safe and efficient unloading, loading, palletizing, and scanning techniques.
Provide feedback and reinforce safety standards among team members.
Assist in implementing new parcel handling procedures.
Parcel Handler – Air:
Perform a multi-step inspection process to ensure “Air Restricted” parcels are not loaded into air containers.
Handle hazardous materials and ORM-D packages in accordance with safety regulations.
Complete necessary documentation and ensure compliance with FedEx Ground Airlift Consolidation Gateway training.
Essential Functions
Utilize the “hand-surface method” for all package handling.
Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull packages weighing between 5 and 50 pounds.
Maintain focus in a fast-paced and noisy environment, handling packages safely in hot and cold temperatures.

Minimum Requirements
Education: No formal education required.
Experience: No prior experience needed. However, experience as a Package Handler at FedEx Express Corporation is preferred for specialized roles.
Skills:Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Valid driver’s license required for those operating switching equipment.
Working Conditions
Work in various temperatures and a noisy environment.
Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
No travel is required for this position.
