In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the daily operations of our poultry farm, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and animal welfare standards while maintaining production targets.

The Opportunity
The successful candidate will:

• Supervise and manage daily farm operations.
• Maintain production levels of 30,000 – 100,000 broilers/breeders.
• Ensure compliance with Animal Welfare, Biosecurity, and Health and Safety standards.
• Manage employee administration, training, and discipline.
• Develop and oversee fiscal budgets and capital projects.
• Input and maintain production data using SAP.

• Adhering to breeder and animal welfare programs.
• Supervising, training, and scheduling farm employees.
• Monitoring and maintaining equipment and machinery safety.
• Ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA).
• Developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Participating in maintenance planning and pricing equipment.
• Overseeing farm operations during weekends and holidays (on-call responsibilities).

Qualifications
Experience:

• Previous farm experience is required; poultry breeder experience is an asset.
• Leadership experience in a regulated industry.

Education:

• Completion of a 3- or 4-year college program is preferred.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of animal welfare, biosecurity, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Mechanical aptitude is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills.

Other Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Must live within 25 kilometers of the farm.
