Job Overview
We are looking for a caring, patient, and reliable Home Support Worker to provide high-quality in-home support to an individual in Mississauga, ON. This is a long-term, full-time position ideal for someone who is passionate about helping others maintain dignity, independence, and comfort in their own home. You will provide personal care, companionship, and daily living support in a respectful and professional manner.

Experience

• Experience as a caregiver, personal support worker, home support worker, or similar role is an asset
• On-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate

Work Setting

• Work in employer’s/client’s home in Mississauga, ON
• One-on-one care in a private home environment

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Administer bedside and personal care
• Administer medications as directed and maintain simple medication records as needed
• Assist client in water (e.g., pool), ensuring safety and comfort during water-based activities
• Assist with bathing, grooming, and other aspects of personal hygiene
• Assist with regular exercise (e.g., walks, simple home exercises) as recommended
• Feed or assist with feeding, ensuring safe swallowing practices as needed
• Plan and support therapeutic diets and menus according to client’s needs and preferences
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
• Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support
• Provide personal care with respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity
• Observe and report any changes in the client’s condition or behavior
• Perform light housekeeping related to the client’s care (e.g., cleaning up after meals, organizing personal items)
• Follow health, safety, and infection-control guidelines in the home

Transportation / Travel Information

• Willing to travel to and from the employer’s home in Mississauga, ON
• Must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (relocation costs not covered unless otherwise agreed)

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Repetitive tasks such as assisting with transfers and mobility
• Bending, crouching, and kneeling as required for personal care
• Ability to assist with safe client transfers and support mobility (may involve some lifting with proper technique)
• Physically able to be on your feet for portions of the shift
• Comfortable working in a non-smoking home environment (if applicable)

Employment Conditions

• Permanent, full-time position
• 32 to 35 hours per week
• Schedule may include days, evenings, weekends, and possible holidays, depending on client needs
• Overtime may be requested occasionally, with appropriate compensation according to employment standards
