• Chemical plant experience not mandatory – training provided
Equipment and Machinery Experience
Experience with the following equipment is beneficial but not required (training provided):
• Production machinery and industrial equipment
• Pressure cleaners and power washers
• Industrial vacuum cleaners and power sweepers
• Jackhammers for surface preparation
• Hoses and cleaning systems
• Floor scrubbers and buffing machines
• Chemical cleaning equipment

Key Responsibilities
Industrial Cleaning Operations:
• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse from production areas
• Use power sweepers and specialized equipment to clean large floor areas
• Clean production machinery and equipment according to safety protocols
• Remove chemical residues, dust, and contaminants from surfaces
• Perform deep cleaning of processing areas during shutdowns and maintenance periods
• Clean spills and contaminated areas following proper procedures
• Maintain cleanliness standards required for chemical processing environments
Facility Maintenance and Sanitation:
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs throughout facility
• Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain visibility and cleanliness
• Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures to hygiene standards
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers regularly
• Dispose of industrial waste according to environmental regulations
• Sanitize break rooms, locker rooms, and common areas
• Maintain chemical storage and handling areas in clean condition
Equipment Operation:
• Operate pressure cleaners and power washers for heavy-duty cleaning
• Use jackhammers for surface preparation and concrete work when required
• Handle industrial hoses for water, steam, and chemical cleaning
• Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, and polishers
• Use specialized cleaning equipment for chemical decontamination
• Perform routine maintenance on cleaning equipment
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures when cleaning production machinery
Exterior and Grounds Maintenance:
• Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas during winter months
• Cut grass and tend grounds and landscaping around facility
• Maintain outdoor plant areas and green spaces
• Keep exterior areas safe and accessible year-round
• Clear debris from loading docks and entrance areas
• Perform seasonal outdoor cleaning and maintenance tasks
Heavy Work and Material Handling:
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies when needed
• Handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs) regularly
• Transport cleaning materials and waste containers
• Rearrange workspace and equipment for cleaning access
• Load and unload cleaning supplies and materials
• Set up and break down cleaning stations and equipment
Safety and Compliance:
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures in chemical processing environment
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Handle hazardous materials according to WHMIS standards
• Participate in safety training and meetings
• Report safety hazards and incidents immediately
• Comply with environmental regulations for waste disposal
• Maintain Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) awareness
• Practice proper chemical handling and storage procedures
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
• Physically demanding work requiring strength and stamina
• Working in industrial chemical processing plant environment
• Repetitive tasks including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and equipment operation
• Bending, crouching, and kneeling frequently throughout shift
• Lifting and handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs) regularly
• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Working with industrial cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Exposure to industrial odors, dust, and noise
• Temperature variations including hot production areas and cold outdoor conditions
• Day shifts with overtime opportunities for additional earnings
