Job Overview
Countryside Canners Co. Ltd., a fruit and vegetable processing plant in Pointe aux Roches, Ontario, is hiring reliable Cannery Workers for the upcoming production season. You will work on an organized production line, helping to process, inspect, and handle food products that are shipped across Canada and beyond. No previous experience is required—full training is provided. This role is ideal for individuals who are physically fit, can work in a warm factory environment, and want steady seasonal hours with overtime opportunities.

Work Setting
- Fruit and vegetable processing plant in a rural area (Pointe aux Roches, ON)
Key Responsibilities (Tasks)
- Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines according to instructions
- Feed raw or partially processed products into processing machines on the production line
- Unload finished or semi-finished products from processing machines and move them to the next stage of production
- Check products and packaging for basic quality defects such as incorrect fills, damaged containers, or visible contamination
- Assist process control and machine operators in setting up, monitoring, and adjusting machinery as directed
- Clean machines and immediate work areas regularly to maintain hygiene and safety standards
- Assist with basic packaging tasks such as placing products into boxes, attaching labels, and stacking boxes on pallets when required
- Follow all food safety, quality, and sanitation procedures as trained, including proper handwashing and use of protective equipment
- Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality problems to supervisors promptly
- Work cooperatively as part of a production team to meet daily targets and maintain a smooth product flow
Transportation/Travel Information
- Own transportation required (rural location with limited or no public transit)
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
- Repetitive tasks such as feeding machines, lifting small loads, and inspecting products
- Standing for extended periods on concrete floors during shifts
- Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling when cleaning or handling lower-level equipment and products
- Physically demanding work, including lifting and handling weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
- Need for good hand-eye coordination to handle products and operate basic controls safely and efficiently
- Hot working environment due to processing equipment and steam; PPE and breaks provided according to company policy
