Responsibilities

• Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities
• Perform duties related to patient care and comfort
• Perform duties related to personal care
• Supply and empty bed pans
• Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
• Serve meal trays and feed patients according to dietary requirements
• Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients safely
• Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms in clean and comfortable condition
• Supervise patients’ exercise routines
• Bathe, dress, and groom patients with dignity and respect
• Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher
• Administer first aid in emergency situations
• Monitor and report changes in patient health or behaviour
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
• Assist nursing staff with medical procedures as directed
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Follow infection control protocols and hygiene standards
• Respond promptly to patient calls and requests
• Ensure patient safety and comfort at all times
• Participate in care planning meetings as required
• Support patients with mobility and ambulation exercises

Credentials

• First Aid Certificate (required)
• Nursing Aide Certificate (required)
• CPR certification (an asset)
• Health Care Aide certification (an asset)
