Job Overview
Hao Qin is seeking a caring and dependable Home Support Worker to provide respectful, day-to-day assistance in a private home setting in Richmond, BC. This position supports a client with disabilities and may involve working with individuals with physical, intellectual, and/or mental health disabilities, including school-age children (6–12) and clients with special needs. The ideal candidate is patient, communicates clearly, and understands the importance of dignity, safety, routine, and emotional support. You will assist with personal care, hygiene, feeding, mobility support and regular exercise, meal preparation, companionship, and light household duties to help maintain a stable, safe, and comfortable home environment.

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Credentials

• CPR Certificate required
• First Aid Certificate required

Experience

• 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience (home care, caregiving, disability support, respite care, or similar)
• Experience with special needs children and assistance with mobility is a strong asset

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Administer bedside and personal care in a respectful, privacy-focused manner
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and other aspects of personal hygiene
• Feed or assist in feeding and monitor for comfort and safety during meals
• Assist in regular exercise such as walking and mobility routines as directed
• Provide companionship and supportive conversation to promote emotional well-being
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals; cook according to preferences and any dietary guidance provided
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a safe, tidy environment
• Launder clothing and household linens; fold, store, and keep supplies organized
• Mend clothing and linens when needed (minor repairs)
• Support predictable routines, encourage independence where possible, and maintain a calm environment
• Observe and report changes in condition, mood, appetite, sleep, mobility, or behaviour to the employer promptly
• Follow hygiene and safety practices, including safe lifting/mobility assistance and home safety awareness

• Must be able to follow household safety rules, confidentiality expectations, and care routines
