Job Overview
Sandmere Construction is hiring a skilled Plumber to support installation and repair work on construction and service projects in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. This role is ideal for a trade-certified plumber who can read job requirements, determine correct pipe sizing, and produce clean, code-compliant work with a strong focus on safety and quality. You will locate and mark positions for piping and fixtures, measure and fabricate pipe runs, join piping using multiple methods, and assist with estimating materials and costs.   • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Or equivalent experience

Experience

  • 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant plumbing experience in residential, commercial, or construction environments

Credentials

  • Plumber Trade Certification required

Work Setting

  • Construction and service environments with varying job sites and task priorities
  • Work may include new installations, renovations, and repair/maintenance depending on project assignments
  • Schedule may include evenings and weekends based on deadlines and client needs

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing based on job conditions, drawings, and code requirements
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment as required
  • Estimate costs and materials, including calculating quantities of pipe, fittings, and supplies for assigned tasks
  • Maintain accurate measurements and alignment to ensure efficient installation and minimize rework
  • Diagnose basic plumbing issues on service tasks and recommend practical solutions within scope
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow jobsite safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and other trades to coordinate workflow and prevent conflicts

  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks to standard with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure leak-free, code-compliant installations
  • Flexibility to adjust tasks and hours based on project timelines and service priorities
