Job Overview
Richelle Sison is seeking a caring and dependable Child Caregiver to provide consistent, attentive childcare in a private home setting in Edmonton, Alberta. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, trustworthy, and organized, and who can maintain a safe, healthy, and structured environment where children feel supported and encouraged. You will supervise daily routines, prepare nutritious meals, assist with hygiene and social development, keep daily notes for parents, and help with school and appointment transportation. Experience is an asset, but we welcome applicants who are motivated, responsible, and ready to follow the family’s preferred caregiving and discipline methods.

Languages: English

Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required

Experience

• Experience is an asset (nannying, babysitting, daycare support, or family caregiving)
• On-the-job orientation will be provided for household routines and expectations

Key Responsibilities (Tasks)

• Supervise and care for children, ensuring safety and attentive supervision at all times
• Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, following provided routines and instructions
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to family preferences and any dietary guidance
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, encouraging positive habits and respectful behaviour
• Tend to the emotional well-being of children through calm communication, reassurance, and positive guidance
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, using consistent and respectful approaches
• Take children to and from school and to appointments as required, following agreed schedules
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, including tidy child spaces and safety awareness
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to childcare (tidying toys, cleaning after meals, maintaining child areas)
• Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children (meals, routines, behaviour notes, minor concerns)
• Communicate clearly with parents about daily routines, concerns, and progress while maintaining professionalism and discretion

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Weight handling up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
• Active role requiring standing, walking, and engagement with children throughout the day
• Ability to manage routines and multiple tasks while maintaining calm, attentive supervision
