Job Overview
Aafiyat Medical Centre is seeking a Family Physician to provide comprehensive, patient-centred primary care across our Mississauga and Brampton clinics. This role is ideal for a licensed physician who values continuity of care, clear communication, and evidence-based practice. You will assess and treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, provide preventive care and health counselling, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications and treatments, and coordinate care with specialists and allied health providers. Languages: English
Education
- Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry (medicine required for family physician practice)
Experience
- 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant clinical experience in family medicine/primary care (post-licensure experience preferred)
Work Setting
- Clinic-based family practice across two locations (Mississauga and Brampton)
- Collaborative care environment with administrative and clinical support
- Mix of scheduled appointments and same-day/urgent visits based on clinic workflow
Key Responsibilities (Core Duties)
- Collect complete medical histories and relevant information from patients and other healthcare professionals
- Examine patients to assess overall health, identify illness or injury, and determine appropriate care plans
- Diagnose and manage common acute conditions and provide follow-up care
- Manage chronic diseases with appropriate monitoring, medication management, and patient education
- Order laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures; interpret results and communicate clearly with patients
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments as appropriate and within regulatory standards
- Provide preventive care including screening, routine check-ups, vaccinations, and health risk counselling
- Provide counselling and support on lifestyle, wellness, nutrition, mental health, and healthy habit formation
- Coordinate care and referrals to specialists and community services when needed
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and ensure confidentiality of patient information
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and follow clinic policies and applicable standards of practice
Professional Requirements (Important for Applicants)
- Must be eligible for licensure and able to practise as a Family Physician in Ontario (proof may be requested during hiring)
- Strong commitment to safe, ethical, and patient-first care
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of clinical quality

- Fast-paced outpatient setting with shift coverage across weekdays and weekends as scheduled
- Ability to manage multiple patients and priorities while maintaining thorough documentation
